Replacement case for the Pebble 2 Smartwatch. Fits both the Pebble 2 HR and the Pebble 2 SE.
In addition to the new case, you will need the following:
– A Pebble 2 SE or Pebble 2 HR
– A (preferably non-functioning) classic (OG) Pebble watch, from which you will need to remove all four buttons, making sure to keep all the button c-clips, o-rings and springs.
– The original back plate from your Pebble 2 (this case doesn’t replace that piece)
– Some suitable silicone, B7000 or waterproof epoxy to fix the glass and back plate in place (only a very thin bead is needed).
Do you have failing or disintegrating buttons on your Pebble 2? Do you want a more permanent fix than glue or sugru to fix the holes? If so, please read on!
If you don’t want to replace the whole case, you might prefer to just replace the buttons.
If you do want a new case:
This case is the result of a 4 month collaboration between me and Tation (the world’s most avid pebble collector). The current version for sale here is version 42! It’s available from stock in two different materials, a transluscent resin, and black MJF nylon.
Taking apart the Pebble 2 is straightforward, if a little fiddly, and here’s Tation’s photoguide to most of the steps.
Removing the LCD is the trickiest part. I found it easiest to snip the sides off the original case bit by bit, then wiggle the top and bottom frames until the glue lets go.
